ERIE, Pa. - The Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) has recognized Mitchell Obenrader (Fryburg, PA North Clarion) as the North Region Field Athlete of the Week, announced Wednesday.
Obenrader had a record-breaking day for the Lions, winning the Javelin, discus and shot put at the Carnegie Mellon Quad Meet. He got the day going with a 61.42 (201'6") meter throw in the Javelin, beating the next closest throw by almost 50 feet. He then went on to break the Carnegie Mellon facility record in the shot put with a 17.21 meter throw (56'5.75"). He finished the day with a 46.45 meter (152'5") throw in discus.
He's currently ranked third in the shot put, seventh in the javelin, and 22nd in the discus in NCAA Division III.
