ERIE, Pa. - Field athletes Myeisha Sanders (Erie, PA/East) and Tony Antonucci (Wexford, PA/North Allegheny) of the Penn State Behrend men's and women's track and field team were named Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Athlete of the Week for their performances at the Behrend Invitational Saturday afternoon.
Sanders won the shot put, discus and hammer throws and placed second in the javelin at Behrend's home meet this past Saturday. Her season-best shot put mark of 9.96 meters, hammer throw of 30.08 meters, and javelin throw of 20.73 meters were highlights while she also threw 33.39 meters in the discus to win by more than five meters.
Antonucci broke the Penn State Behrend school and facility record in the hammer throw with a 46.07 meters (151'2") mark which he now sits No. 1 in the CSAC. He also placed second in the discus and shot put where he currently holds the No. 2 and No. 4 marks in the CSAC, respectively.
