Three Named AMCC Athletes of the Week

ERIE, Pa. – Three Penn State Behrend student-athletes were named Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Athletes of the Week.

In women's cross country, leading the Lion's for the second straight meet was freshman Savanna Carr (Franklin, PA/Franklin), crossing the finish line in first place at 19:35.0. Carr continues to dominate, earning her second AMCC Athlete of the Week selection in only three weeks.

On the men's side, freshman Zach Wortman (St. Mary's, PA/Elk County Catholic) also ran the way for the Lions, taking second place in the home invitational totaling a final time of 27:02.2. Wortman was instrumental in helping Behrend earn first place with a score of 37.

Forward Jordan Oberlander (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) tallied five goals in the past two games, including a hat-trick against Washington & Jefferson to award her women's soccer Offensive Player of the Week. Oberlander leads the AMCC in both goals (9) and points (20) through the first seven games in the season.
