Brown Elected To FARA Executive Committee

ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend Faculty Athletics Representative (FAR), Chuck Brown, has been elected to serve on the Faculty Athletics Representative Association (FARA) Executive Committee. He was also recently named Chair of the NCAA Division III Interpretations and Legislation Committee; a committee he has served on since 2015.

Brown, Associate Director of the Black School of Business, Associate Professor of Accounting, was elected to the Executive Committee to provide leadership to FARA which is governed by the FARA Constitution. The FARA's role is to advocate for faculty athletics representatives and to represent their concerns at the national level.

Brown and Brian Streeter, Senior Director of Athletics, recently participated in a panel session titled "What Good is an FAR?" at the January 2018 NCAA Convention held in Indianapolis, IN.  The session featured pairs of FARs and administrators from institutions in all three divisions of the NCAA.  Brown and Streeter represented Division III discussing FAR involvement in athletics compliance, student-athlete well-being, and institutional control.  An article of their panel session will appear in the FARA Voice newsletter.
