ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend junior men's volleyball outside hitter Dillon Hildebrand and senior softball pitcher AJ Nichols (Pittsburgh, PA/Shaler) have been named Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Athletes of the Week.
Hildebrand averaged 4.27 kills in three matches for the Lions this week, while breaking the program record for career service aces (68) and kills (819). He had double-digit kills in each match, including a career-high 25 vs. Wittenberg on Saturday. Hildebrand also added 19 kills vs. D'Youville and 20 vs. Penn State Altoona. Hildebrand broke the program record for career service aces and kills over the weekend.
Nichols appeared in four games this week, finishing with a 1.91 ERA. Nichols had three complete-game wins against Carnegie Mellon, Pitt-Bradford and Penn State Altoona. She pitched 22 innings, striking out 23, and allowing only six earned runs.
