Four Named AMCC Athletes of the Week

ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend women's volleyball player Kristin Reiland (Fairview, PA/Villa Maria Academy), women's cross country runner Riley Crissman (Bradford, PA/Bradford Area), women's swimmer Marcella Puglia (Beaver Falls, PA/Blackawk), and men's swimmer Jacob Eshelman (Franklin, PA/Franklin) were selected Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Athletes of the Week.

Reiland was named the AMCC women's volleyball Player of the Week for her effort against D'Youville and La Roche. She recorded a pair of double-doubles to lead Behrend to a 2-0 week in AMCC action as the Lions remain a perfect 6-0 in conference play. She led with 11 kills and 11 digs in a 3-0 win over D'Youville, before registering 15 kills and 11 digs in a 3-2 victory over La Roche. For the week, Reiland averaged 3.25 kills and 2.75 digs while swinging at a .381 clip. She also added five service aces and four blocks. 

Women's cross country senior Crissman earned Runner of the Week with her 15th place finish at the Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble. She led the Lions finishing 15th out of 283 runners. Crissman had her second best 6K time of the season, as she crossed the finish line in 22:08.8.

Sophomore Puglia was named women's Swimmer of the Week. Puglia led the Behrend Lions past Alfred State with three individual wins and one relay victory on Saturday. She won the 1000 freestyle (11:42.43), the 200 butterfly (2:38.20) and 500 freestyle (5:41.90), while swimming on the 200 medley relay that won with a time of 2:05.66.

Freshman Eshelman took received the men's Swimmer of the Week honor. He won two individual events to lead the Behrend Lions past Alfred State 162-117 on Saturday. He touched first in the 100 breaststroke (1:04.84) and 100 freestyle (50.31).
