#GivingTuesday Campaign to Benefit Behrend Programs

#GivingTuesday Campaign to Benefit Behrend Programs

This year's #GivingTuesday event at Penn State offers the opportunity to contribute to eight Behrend programs. Donations to all eight programs will support student services and community outreach.

Penn State's #GivingTuesday campaign opens at 6:55 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 30 – that's 18:55 in military time, representing the year Penn State was founded. The campaign continues through Tuesday, Dec. 1, ending at midnight.

Gifts on #GivingTuesday will support Behrend programs in the following ways:

Athletics: Donations will provide funding for the travel expenses, training sessions and tournament games of student-athletes.

Behrend Alumni Society Scholarship: Gifts will add to the society's scholarship fund, which helps make a Behrend education accessible to more students.

Intrieri Family Student-Managed Fund: Donations will help grow the Black School of Business' student-managed investment fund and provide real-world learning opportunities for students.

Lion's Pantry: Gifts will help provide food and hygiene products to students in need.

Personal Counseling Office: Funds raised will support upgrades to the Relaxation Room, a private retreat for students.

Theatre Program: Gifts will support improvements and updates to the Studio Theatre space.

Virtual/Augmented Reality (VAR) Lab: Donations will help fund student research and new equipment and expand the reach of the lab.

Youth Education Outreach: Funds raised will support Behrend's K-12 STEAM outreach to young people and teachers in the Erie region.

This year, supporters may choose to make an early gift or create a personal fundraising page to benefit any #GivingTuesday campaign.

As in past years, graduates of the last decade who make a gift of $5 or more to a campaign will receive a 1:1 match from the University, up to $100.

This is the sixth year Penn State has celebrated the #GivingTuesday global day of giving. Penn State's 2019 #GivingTuesday celebration raised more than $710,000 from more than 7,600 gifts.
