AMCC Announces Winter and Spring Sportsmanship Teams

ERIE, Pa. – The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) announced the All-Sportsmanship Team for 2020-21 Winter and Spring seasons.

All institution sport teams which competed for an AMCC championship may select one member from their team who displays good sportsmanship throughout the season to be a member of the All-AMCC Sportsmanship Team. These individuals are selected by vote of their teammates.

For the winter sports, junior Natalie Denny (Harborcreek, PA/Harbor Creek) represented women's bowling and sophomore John Cageao (Beaver, PA/Lincoln Park Performing Arts) was chosen for men's volleyball.

Savanna Carr (Franklin, PA/Franklin) and John Anderson (Emlenton, PA/Keystone) were voted the men's and women's cross country representatives while Matthew Brown (Oviedo, FL/Paul J. Hagerty) and Emma Martin (Mars, PA/Mars) were chosen from the men's and women's tennis teams. The men's golf winner was senior Michael Dinner (Erie, PA/Cathedral Prep). The softball representative was Marissa Torretti (DuBois, PA/DuBois) and baseball was Jacob Dietz (Erie, PA/McDowell), rounding out the spring sports.

The student-athlete selected must consistently demonstrate a high level of ethical conduct, respect and fair play in both practice and competition, whether on the sidelines or as an active competitor.  Such sportsmanship shall be evident toward teammates, coaches, opponents, officials and fans.  He/She must also serve as a positive representative of school spirit when a spectator at other teams' sporting events.
