Five Named AMCC Athletes of the Week

ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend freshman Chris Profaca (Basking Ridge, NJ/Ridge), sophomore Angelina Hofrichter (Canonsburg, PA/Canon-McMillan), senior Brenna McGuire (McDonald, PA/South Fayette), graduate student Maddie Clapper (Hollidaysburg, PA/Hollidaysburg) and senior Kristin Reiland (Fairview, PA/Villa Maria Academy) have been named Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Athletes of the Week.

Profaca, the men's soccer Offensive Player of the Week, led the Lions with a goal and an assist in a 3-0 win over Pitt-Greensburg in their only game this week. He netted the game-winner in the first half to keep Behrend undefeated in AMCC play.

Hofrichter, the women's soccer Defensive Player of the Week, was instrumental in helping the Lions post a pair of shutout wins this week. She started in the back and held the reigning AMCC Champions, Pitt-Greensburg, scoreless and allowed just one shot on goal. 

McGuire, the women's soccer Offensive Player of the Week, scored her second game-winning goal of the season, netting the lone tally in a 1-0 win over reigning AMCC Champions Pitt-Greensburg on Saturday. The senior has three goals for six points this season.

Clapper, the women's volleyball Defensive Player of the Week, is earning the honor for the second straight week. She had double-digit digs in all three matches this week to help the Lions go 3-0. She tallied 16 digs in a 3-0 win over Pitt-Greensburg in AMCC action and then led with 19 digs against Oberlin. She also added nine assists, four aces and three kills.

Reiland, the women's volleyball Offensive Player of the Week, hit .518 for the week and only committed two errors in three wins for the Lions. She registered a team-high 15 kills on 32 attempts (.406) in a 3-1 decision against Oberlin on Saturday. For the week, Reiland recorded 31 kills, 12 blocks, 10 digs and four aces.
