AMCC Baseball Tournament to be Held at Behrend This Weekend

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend baseball team will host the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Tournament this weekend, welcoming the other three remaining teams with action beginning on Friday, May 13 at 10 a.m.

The No. 1 Lions (25-11) will open the weekend with No. 4 La Roche following the Redhawks sweep of Hilbert in the opening round this past weekend. Behrend and La Roche met back on April 30 in the conference regular-season finale. The Lions took both games from the Redhawks to earn hosting rights and the title of Regular-Season Champions, bringing the AMCC Tournament back to Erie for the first time since 2013.

The second game on Friday will feature No. 2 Mount Aloysius and No. 3 Alfred St. at 1 p.m. The double-elimination tournament will carry over into Saturday, concluding on Sunday with the AMCC Championship with the possibility of needing two games to decide a champion. Game one on Sunday will have a first pitch of 11 a.m.

Behrend enters in search of its first consecutive championships since winning three straight spanning from 2008-2010.
