ERIE, Pa. – Senior Savanna Carr (Franklin, PA/Franklin Area), sophomore Kody Klein (North East, PA/Cathedral Prep) and freshman Jayna Baer (Pittsburgh, PA/Moon) have been named Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Athletes of the Week.
Carr and Klein were named the women's and men's cross country Athlete of the Week for leading the Lions the NCAA Division III Pre-Meet held at Olivet on Saturday. Carr led women's side with a 95th-place finish out of 319 runners. She ran the 6K in a team-best a time of 23:57.5. It is the second time this season Carr has earned this honor. Klein was the top finisher for the Lions, taking 157th overall with an 8K time of 27:10.2.
Baer earned women's tennis Athlete of the Week. She went undefeated without giving up a set point in both conference matches in singles and doubles competition. Baer blanked her opponents at No. 3 singles and No. 2 doubles. For the week, she posted a 3-1 record at both singles and doubles.
