Dave First, also known as "Mr. Sunshine" during his time at Penn State Behrend, is a graduate of Academy High School in Erie, and he was one of the best golfers in the history of the Behrend Lions program. 

First performed for Hall of Fame coach Ed Onorato and earned the White Letter Award for being the team's most valuable player in each of his two seasons for the blue, white, and red. First also holds the record for the lowest career scoring average among all Behrend Lions.

First also coached the Behrend Lions golf squad in 1987-89. His golf resume is very impressive. First is still active in the local golf scene. He has captured nine club championships at the J.C. Martin and Gospel Hill Golf Courses. 

First was awarded a degree in business administration from Penn State Behrend. First is married, has two children, and is the owner of Sun Capsule and Subway.
