Gary Wolfe is a graduate of Horseheads High School in Horseheads, New York. He was a three-year letter winner for head soccer coach Herb Lauffer.
In 1976 and 1977 he guided the soccer team to back-to-back eight-win seasons. The eight wins were the most wins in a season between 1961 and 1995. He was an important player in the team's 1978 N.A.I.A. District 18 Championship. In 1978 Wolfe was tabbed a Western Pennsylvania Intercollegiate Soccer Conference all-star at sweeper.
Wolfe graduated from Penn State Behrend in 1982. He competes annually in the Grand Rapids Old Kent 25K Run. Wolfe is married, has two children, and is a buyer for M.C. Sports in Michigan.
