William Hildenbrand, a graduate of North Allegheny High School in Pittsburgh was a standout for the Behrend Lions soccer team.
Hildenbrand was a member of the 1971 Penn State Behrend Commonwealth Soccer Championship team that has been recognized as one of the best teams in college history, and has been inducted into the Hall of Fame. In 1972, Hildenbrand posted his best season by contributing four goals and four assists to the Behrend Lions. He returned to Behrend to continue his career in 1981 and served as the team captain for longtime head coach Herb Lauffer.
Hildenbrand graduated from Penn State Behrend in 1982. He is married and teaches at North Allegheny Intermediate School. Hildenbrand is also the director of coaching for the North Allegheny Soccer Club in Pittsburgh.
