Dr. Jeremy Brubaker

Dr. Jeremy Brubaker was a change agent in the Behrend Lions baseball program from 1996-2000. Brubaker imposed his will on the game and the program elevating both during his four years as a starter between the chalked lines.

In back-to-back seasons, his play enabled the program to set a record for most wins as a Division III school. In 1998, the Lions won 23 games to set a new standard for Behrend baseball. Yet, just one year later, the team won 26 games beginning the start of a new era. Brubaker often saved his best for the tallest task. He had a three hit game to generate the program’s first signature win over a nationally ranked club, and knocked a clutch home run to help secure a win against a regionally-ranked opponent all while propelling the Lions to their first ever ECAC South Tournament. His .403 batting average in 1999 was the third-best ever in a single season.

The term "five-tool player" is common to baseball. It refers to someone that can hit for average, hit for power, run the bases with skill and speed, throw, and field. Brubaker possessed all of those traits, helping Penn State Behrend baseball achieve new heights.

As a three-time AMCC all-conference player, he closed gaps in the outfield and threw runners out as they attempted to take the advanced base. He could pilfer a base when necessary and he hit for average and extra-bases, and hit some more.

In 1999, he was recognized by Collegiate Baseball as a Player to Watch and was tabbed with the program’s Herb Lauffer Leadership and Scholarship Award at the conclusion of his junior year. Brubaker was career .368 hitter and at graduation ranked number one all-time atop all the key offensive categories for hits (172), doubles (39), triples in a career (11) and single season (6), runs scored (125), and second in steals (53), walks (68), and RBIs (91).

Brubaker, a graduate of DuBois High School, is the President of Keystone Clinic of Chiropractic, and East Division Director of the Right Start program. Brubaker, his wife Becky, and son Hayes reside in Ringgold, Georgia.
