The 2001 women's volleyball team won the program's first-ever AMCC Championship, defeating Frostburg 3-1 in the title match on November 3. Behrend earned the number two seed after posting a 10-2 regular-season record in conference play.
The Lions traveled to Altoona for the championships and knocked off the No. 3 Pitt-Bradford Panthers in the semifinals, 3-1. Behrend then defeated the No. 4 Bobcats for the AMCC Title.
Berhend finished the season with a 22-10 overall record under head coach Kellie Diehl. Jessica Niedermeyer and Danielle Bemis were named to the All-Conference Team.
