1991-92 Women's Basketball

The 1991-92 Penn State Behrend women’s basketball team put together a historic season. Along with breaking a number of records, the Lions reached the postseason for the first time in program history and were crowned champions on three separate occasions throughout the season. Behrend won the Frostburg Tournament, Arby’s-Integra Tournament and the ECAC Southern Regional Championship.

The Lions were ranked regionally and broke into the top 20 NCAA national rankings. They finished the season with a program-best 23 wins, only dropping four games along the way. The record-breaking year was capped with a huge win over Frostburg St. in the ECAC title game, routing the Bobcats by a score of 61-48.

Behrend played 15 teams with above .500 records during the 91-92 season, the only team to do so in the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Region. The Lions finished with a .852 winning percentage, the highest ever, and strung together nine consecutive wins during the season.
