Phil Stuczynski was a catalyst for the Penn State Behrend men’s track and field team from 2006-09. He was an NCAA provisional qualifier in the 4x100m relay that also broke the program record. Stuczynski ranked as high as 21st in the nation in the 100m in his senior year. He was an ECAC qualifier in five events and was named All-ECAC in the 4x100m relay. Stucyznski was also a seven-time All-Conference selection, while being named an Academic All-American. 

 

Stuczynski proved he belonged in a Behrend uniform his freshman year. He set the school record in the outdoor 200m dash, qualifying for the ECAC Championships. In addition, Stuczynski earned All-Mason Dixon honors in both the 200m and the 4x400m relay. As a sophomore, he built on his success by qualifying for ECAC’s once again, this time in the 4x100m relay. He added two more All-Mason Dixon honors that season in the 4x100m and 4x400m relays.

 

Stuczynski could only do better than himself, and he did in his junior year. He set Top 10 program marks in the 55m, 200m, and 300m dashes. He also qualified for the ECAC Indoor meet in the 200m and 4x200m relay, setting a new school record in the relay. The same success followed in the outdoor season. Stuczynski anchored the 4x100m relay that garnered numerous accolades, including a new program time in the record books. He was also a Mason Dixon, ECAC, and NCAA qualifier and an NCAA Academic All-American for the 4x100m relay. 

 

As a senior, Stuczynski was running the best 100m dash times of his career and continuing to rank in the Top 10 in program history. He again earned All-Mason Dixon honors in the 4x100m and 4x400m relays. He was able to leave his mark once again at the ECAC Championships in the 4x100m relay and earned the team’s Leadership/Scholarship award to cap his career. 

 

Stuczynski graduated from Behrend with a bachelor of science in finance in 2009 and his MBA in 2010. He currently lives in Erie, PA and works at Penn State Behrend.
