Dustin Walker was a three-year starter and three-time All-AMCC first-team choice for the Penn State Behrend men’s soccer team from 2006-09. He holds the program record for career shutouts (30) and games played in goal (69). Walker is also ranked second with a career 0.928 goals-against average (GAA) and is sixth with 272 career saves. He helped the Lions capture the AMCC Championship in 2007 and set the program’s single-season record for goals allowed with seven. He capped his career with being named the Behrend Athlete of the Year.
In his sophomore year, Walker paced the conference with a .911 save percentage and a 0.45 goals-against average. In 16 games, he only allowed seven goals and made 72 saves. His six shutouts ranked second in the AMCC. Walker landed on the All-AMCC First Team with a 9-3-2 overall record in 15 starts in between the pipes. In the AMCC semifinals, he tallied a season-best 10 saves to catapult Behrend into the championship game. The Lions captured the AMCC title with a 2-1 win over Medaille to advance to the NCAA Tournament. Walker made three saves in a first round 1-0 win against Washington & Jefferson for his sixth shutout. He concluded the season with six stops in the NCAA Tournament game vs. Montclair State on Nov. 10, 2007.
Walker started his junior year with a career-high 12 saves in the second game of the Herb Lauffer Memorial Tournament to help the Lions defeat Geneseo. He finished the season with his best output for saves with 86 and posted 10 shutouts in the 21 games he played. Walker went 13-8-1 in goal and earned his second First Team All-Conference honor, while leading the Lions to an ECAC Tournament appearance.
In his senior year, he ranked second in the AMCC with a 0.60 GAA and .860 save percentage. In 22 games, Walker posted 12 shutouts, made 80 saves and was named First Team All-AMCC. He was instrumental in leading the Lions to their first and only ECAC Title. Over the three games in the ECAC Championships, he made a combined 16 saves and posted two shutouts, including a 2-0 victory against Wesley in the title game. For his efforts, Walker was named the Most Outstanding Player of the ECAC Tournament.
He capped his career with the most prestigious honor bestowed on a Behrend student-athlete, the James Frye Male Athlete of the Year Award.
