Kelly Wilson has been named the Campus Recreation Manager of the new $28.2 million recreation center, set to open in February 2023.
Wilson is transitioning from an assistant coach with the women’s soccer program. She has spent the last four season on the sidelines with the Lions, mentoring 24 All-Conference performers, three All-Region players and two AMCC Players of the Year. Wilson also coached the 2021 team to an AMCC Championship and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
Wilson will be responsible for the leadership and oversight of the Campus Recreation program. She will design engaging and relevant program offerings including lessons, events, courses, recreational opportunities including intramurals; provide vision, direction, and long-range planning for programs with supervision of the staff.
Wilson has been involved in collegiate athletics for over 10 years. Prior to her arrival at Behrend, she was an assistant soccer coach at Alma College for one season. Wilson also spent two seasons as the assistant coach at Hiram. She had a successful four-year career for the women’s soccer team at Alma. Wilson was a two-time team captain and earned First Team All-MIAA honors in 2014 and 2015.
She graduated from Alma in 2016 with a bachelor of arts in business administration and a minor in communication and received her master of arts in disciplinary studies from Hiram in 2018.
