ERIE, Pa. – On Saturday, August 13, members of the Penn State Behrend athletic department volunteered to help build a home for an Erie family through Habitat for Humanity. It marked the fifth straight year the staff dedicated time and labor toward a sustainable and healthy house in the community.
Habitat for Humanity is non-profit organization dedicated to eliminate substandard housing and homelessness worldwide and to make adequate, affordable shelter a matter of conscience and action. Through volunteer labor and donations of money and materials, Habitat builds and rehabilitates simple, decent houses alongside the homeowner families.
