Allen, Obenrader Named CSAC Athletes of the Week

ERIE, Pa. – Junior track and field athletes Paige Allen (Butler, PA/Butler) and Mitchell Obenrader (Fryburg, PA/North Clarion) were named Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Athletes of the Week after their performances at the Carnegie Mellon Quad Meet Saturday.

Allen was the CSAC Women’s Track Athlete of the Week. She won the 400m and the 200m in times of 58.80 and 26.50 respectively. Allen was also part of the 4x100m and 4x400m relay teams. The 4x100 took third, posting a CSAC leading time of 50.90 and the 4x400 placed third as well for the second-best time in the CSAC at 4:26.80. Allen has qualified for Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships in the 100m, 200m, and 400m with the fifth-ranked time in the 200m and 11th-ranked time in the 100m and 400m.

Obenrader was the CSAC Men’s Field Athlete of the Week. Obenrader won two events and was second in a third on Saturday. He broke school records in the shot put and the hammer throw. Obenrader finished first in the shot put and second in the hammer, posting CSAC-leading distances of 56’ and 138’ 1” respectively. He also placed first in a field of 13 in the javelin with a 196’ 3” throw, which also leads the CSAC. Obenrader ranks second in the ECAC in the shot put and javelin as well as second and seventh in the NCAA in the shot put and javelin respectively.
