Obenrader, Yenchik Named CSAC Athletes of the Week

Mitchell Obenrader and Haley Yenchik were named Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) male and female field Athletes of the Week, announced on Tuesday.

ERIE, Pa. – Mitchell Obenrader (Fryburg, PA/North Clarion) and Haley Yenchik (Cecil, PA/Canon McMillan were named Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) male and female field Athletes of the Week, announced on Tuesday.

Obenrader is receiving his second CSAC Athlete of the Week honor. To earn his second spot atop the conference, Obenrader posted two CSAC bests at the Westminster Invitational.

He set season-best throws in the javelin (60.70m) and discus (42.18m) and won the shot put with a toss of 16.25m. Obenrader now leads the CSAC in all four throwing events.

Yenchik earns her first Athlete of the Week crown after an exceptional performance Saturday at Westminster. She posted a CSAC leading triple jump (9.92m) in her college triple jump debut.

Then, Yenchik’s pole vault (3.25m) and long jump (4.73m) were her second best of the season and rank her first and second in the CSAC in those events respectively. Yenchik was also a part of the ECAC qualifying 4x100m relay team that posted a time of 50.02.
