Soccer/Lacrosse Complex

Completed this fall, the new soccer/lacrosse artificial turf field with be a multi-purpose complex with lighting located adjacent to the Junker Center parking lot. The field is used for varsity soccer contests along with intramurals, club sports and class instruction.

 

Sand Volleyball Courts

There are two sand volleyball courts located on campus adjacent to the on-campus apartments. These courts are generally available to students, faculty, and staff. The courts are reserved for two weeks during each fall semester for the intramural sand volleyball tournament.

 

Track & Field Facility/Behrend Fields

The track & field facility is located at the Behrend Fields and includes an eight-lane competition-level track and separate areas for field events.The Behrend Fields, located between Logan House and the main entrance to campus, also is comprised of four multi-purpose athletic fields and a putting green. The fields are used for intramurals and class instruction. They accommodate a variety of play configurations, including flag football and softball. The intramural field space is available for use any time by students, faculty, and staff. The varsity field space, however, is for authorized use only.

 

Tennis Courts

Located adjacent to Erie Hall are six lighted tennis courts available for use by Penn State Erie students, faculty, and staff. Court reservations are not needed at any time. The courts are reserved throughout each semester for varsity tennis practice and matches.

 

Baseball and Softball Complex

The college's baseball and softball complex, located adjacent to the main campus entrance off Station Road, opened in 2001. The complex features a built-in irrigation system, seventy-foot in-ground dugouts, batting cages, bullpens, scoreboards, a full warning track, permanent fences, a concession stand, and scorekeepers' stations. These fields are reserved for use by varsity teams and for special camps.

 

Wintergreen Gorge

Beautiful walking and hiking paths make their way through the Wintergreen Gorge, which is located near the Engineering Complex.
