Lions Drop Three Games Against St. Vincent

ERIE, Pa. The Penn State Behrend women's bowling team fell 770-563 and 742-573 in two Traditional games, and 1-0 in a five game, total pin Baker set on Tuesday night.

The Lions opened the first game against the Bearcats in a 770-563 loss. Bobbi Doubet (Cambridge Springs, PA/Cambridge Springs) and Hali Hartley (Seven Fields, PA/Mars Area High School) both led the charge for Behrend by rolling a 138. However, it was not enough to overcome Rachael Heater's eight-strike performance, including two in the final frame, to end with a final score of 219.

Behrend made improvements in the second game with the help of Becky Patterson (Erie, PA/Villa Maria Academy) who bowled a team-high 146 in the match. Hartley continued her play through the second match after knocking down a total of 136 for the Lions. Dani Koehler led the Bearcats to victory though, bowling five straight strikes, three of which coming in the 10th frame to finalize the score 742-573.

The final point of the night was earned through a five game, total pin Baker set. After dropping the first game 125-159, the Lions battled back to knock down a season-best 189 pins to win the second game. Behrend continued to play throughout the match, falling in the last three games 149-163, 122-164, and 111-124, respectively.

The Lions will be back in action on December 5 when they travel to Buffalo, NY to take on Medaille. The match is set to begin at 7 p.m.
