Boehme Named NCAA Baseball Statistical Champion

ERIE, Pa. - Former Penn State Behrend baseball first baseman David Boehme (Venetia, PA/Seton-La Salle) has been named the 2017-18 NCAA Division III statistical champion for doubles per game.

Boehme set a new single-season record for doubles with 25, averaging 0.59 doubles per game to lead all of Division III. The senior was a second-team All-Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) choice this season and won the team's Spirit and Hustle Award. Boehme also led the AMCC with 60 RBIs to become the fifth player in program history to reach the 150 RBI mark in his career. He finished the season with a career-high .364 average and tallied six home runs.

This season, he had 18 multiple hits games and led Behrend with his 13 multiple RBI games. Boehme hit four home runs that led the Lions to an AMCC double-header sweep against Medaille. He ended the year on an 11-game hitting streak.
