FORT PIERCE, FL. – The Penn State Behrend baseball team dropped a pair of seven-inning games to Monmouth (Ill.) on day four of spring-break action in Fort Pierce, Florida on Wednesday.

Game One:

Key Moments:

* The Fighting Scots and the Lions battled for the first time in program history
* Monmouth erased a four-run deficit with eight runs over three innings
* Harry Sanchez went 3-for-4 with three RBIs for the Fighting Scots
* Ian Taylor (Wexford, PA/Vincentian Academy) was a perfect 3-for-3 with a pair of runs
* Behrend knocked in two runs in the third and fourth innings
* Scott Sada (Saegertown, PA/Saegertown) singled to left field and advanced on the throw to score Zack Bowen (Plum Borough, PA/Serra Catholic), before Justin Foreman (Oakdale, PA/South Fayette) grounded out for the RBI and scoring Brittner
* The lead grew to four after the fourth
* Taylor singled and Ryan Weaver (North Huntingdon, PA/Norwin) knocked in him with a single to left field to make it 3-0
* Weaver advanced on a wild pitch and scored on Brittner's double for a 4-0 advantage
* The Fighting Scots added a run in the fourth, three in the fifth and four in the sixth
* Ben Ramey (Export, PA/Franklin Regional) started the game and Ben Bowen (Plum Borough, PA/Serra Catholic) recorded his first loss in the fifth-inning relief

Key Moments:

* Monmouth broke open a 2-1 game with three runs in the seventh to hold on for the second straight win
* The Fighting Scots registered eight hits and plated five runs
* Second base Matt Temaner smacked a double to right field in the top of the seventh, scoring three runs
* Behrend had accumulated five hits from five different players
* Freshman Jacob Lindow (Bridgeville, PA/Chartiers Valley) pitched six innings for the Lions, striking out four and giving up three earned runs
* Freshman Donny Watters (Perry, OH/Perry) registered his first collegiate double in the bottom of the fifth inning
