ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend baseball team split an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) doubleheader with Penn State Altoona on Sunday. The Lions earned an 11-6 game-one victory, before falling 16-10 in the nightcap.

Game One (Seven Innings)
Scores:  Penn State Behrend 11,  Penn State Altoona 6
Records: Penn State Behrend (19-9, 8-3 AMCC), Penn State Altoona (19-13, 8-5 AMCC)

Key Moments

* The Lions never trailed, scoring four runs in the third and four in the sixth
* Behrend held a 15-7 advantage in hits
* The Lions tallied four of their five doubles in the sixth inning to generate the insurance runs
* Catcher Jake Deitz (Erie, PA/McDowell) went 3-for-4 with three runs and a stolen base
* Starter Brady Kress (Harmony, PA/Seneca Valley) tallied his third win, striking out five in 4.2 innings
* Sophomore Ryan Weaver (North Huntingdon, PA/Norwin) pitched the final two innings to record his third save

Key Moments:

* Game two generated a combined 33 hits, 26 runs, 22 runners left on base and seven errors
* Altoona had the lead in every inning except the bottom of the sixth when Behrend took its first lead at 10-9
* Behrend had three players with three hits apiece. Zack Bowen (Plum Borough, PA/Serra Catholic) went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs along with a triple and a double
* The Behrend Lions rallied back from a five run deficit with five runs in the bottom of the fourth to tie it at 5-all

* Scott Sada (Saegertown, PA/Saegertown) joined Bowen with a triple on the day
