AMCC Winning Streak Continues With Win Over Pitt-Greensburg, 66-46

ERIE, PA – Chris Saltzman shot 10-for-12 from the field including three triples to register a game-high 24 points for the Penn State Behrend men's basketball team as they went on to defeat Pitt-Greensburg 66-46 at the Junker Center, Saturday.

Nick Thorsen also shot well for the Lions (10-1, 5-0 AMCC), the junior guard cashed in four three-pointers and ended the night with a career high 17 points. In Russ Conley's first game back, the center went 3-for-7 from the field and netted seven points.

The Bobcats (4-8, 1-5 AMCC) were led by David Palmer's 11 points and nine rebounds. Josh Kucenic and Cameron Hubbard also tallied nine apiece.

After seven minutes of play Behrend held a 20-9 advantage, the men would then go on a 22-8 run thanks to Justin Kovac, Saltzman and Thorsen each connecting from long range. The frenzy was capped off by a well designed play that led to a Conley dunk to end the half, 42-17.

In the first half the Lions turned Pitt-Greensburg over 16 times while only committing eight themselves.

Driving from the left wing Saltzman took off and hammered down a one hand dunk for the Lions (44-17), just twelve seconds into the second half. The Bobcats would respond by holding Behrend to just 22 points in the final 20 minutes while scoring 29 of their own.

The Lions went on to empty their bench in a convincing 66-46 win over Pitt-Greensburg.

Behrend will return to the Junker Center tomorrow, Sunday 9, at 3 p.m.
