Potter, Kovac Named To NABC Honors Court

Erie, Pa. – Graduated senior Adam Potter and rising senior Justin Kovac were named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court for excelling in academics during the 2009-10 season.

To be eligible for the Honors Court, a student-athlete must be academically a junior or senior and a varsity player, have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.2 at the conclusion of the 2009-10 academic year, have matriculated at least one year at their current institution, and be  a member of an NCAA Division I, II, III or NAIA Institution.

Potter, a math major, was the Herb Lauffer Leadership/Scholarship recipient for exemplifying qualities such as being a leader, an excellent student and making everyone around him a better person.  On the court, he shot 50.2 percent from the field and averaged 9.4 points per game for the Lions.

Kovac, a finance and accounting double major, was recognized for his excellence in athletics and academics with the Scholar Athlete of the Year award. A two-time All-AMCC selection, he led the team with 125 assists and 51 steals, while averaging 9.3 points per game.
