Lions Defeat Allegheny, 63-51

MEADVILLE, Pa. – Wes Davic (Grafton, OH/Midview) posted his second double-double of the season to help propel the Penn State Behrend men's basketball team to their third straight victory over Allegheny, 63-51 Saturday night. Nick DeLisio (Aliquippa, PA/Central Valley) led all scorers with 20 points and also chipped in six assists.

The Lions (3-0) traded blows with Allegheny (3-2) throughout the first half and found themselves trailing 30-26 at the break. With 17:44 remaining in the second half, DeLisio hit a three-pointer to give Behrend a 37-34 lead, their first since the 5:54 mark in the first half. DeLisio added another three-pointer and two free throws putting him on an eight-point spree for the Lions.

Starting with DeLisio's second three-pointer of the second frame, Behrend was able to go on a 14-0 run and and took a 53-41 lead with just under five minutes to play in the game. Behrend's defense held Allegheny scoreless for approximately nine minutes from the 13:34 mark to 4:38 remaining.

Davic scored 10 second half points and finished with 17 total along with 12 rebounds. Malquan Pullium (Erie, PA/Strong Vincent) filled up the stat sheet with 10 points, eight rebounds, three assists and two steals.

The Lions open conference play Wednesday at home against D'Youville at 8 p.m.
