Lions Cruise Past Fredonia

FREDONIA, N.Y. - The Penn State Behrend men's basketball team improved to 6-0 after defeating Fredonia 71-48 Wednesday night. Zane Hackett (Brookville, PA/Brookville) and Nick DeLisio (Aliquippa, PA/Central Valley) led the way for the Lions (6-0, 2-0 AMCC) combining for 38 points. Hackett netted 21 points along with three rebounds and two assists while DeLisio scored 17 points and contributed three rebounds and two assists.

Behrend took an early advantage thanks to a first half 14-2 run beginning at the 12:07 mark. With 4:33 left in the first frame DeLisio hit a three-pointer to give the Lions an 18-point lead, their largest at that point of the game. DeLisio had nine first half points and guided Behrend into the locker room with a comfortable 38-21 advantage.

The Lions picked up where they left off early in the second half and took a 20-point lead after a Hackett layup at the 18:25 mark. Behrend continued their strong play throughout the second frame and notched the victory.

The Lions continued their hot shooting from behind the arc draining nine out of 16 attempts. Behrend shot 54 percent from the floor and outrebounded Fredonia (1-4) 29-24.

Coming off the bench, Chris Dudzenski (Latrobe, PA/Latrobe) provided a spark with seven points, six rebounds and an assist. In total the Lions bench contributed 21 points.

Behrend continues conference play Saturday with a home match against Penn State Altoona. Tip-off starts at 4 p.m.
