Lions Improve to 4-0 in AMCC

BRADFORD, Pa. - The Penn State Behrend men's basketball team continued their strong defensive play Saturday afternoon defeating Pitt-Bradford, 57-40. Keith Wallace (Erie, PA/Central Tech) led all scorers with 14 points and also grabbed eight rebounds.

The Lions (9-1, 4-0 AMCC) played yet another solid defensive game holding Pitt-Bradford (4-6, 1-2 AMCC) to 40 points on 16-of-61 shooting. The inside presence of Wes Davic (Grafton, OH/Midview) and Zane Hackett (Brookville, PA/Brookville) disrupted the Bradford offense all game. Davic hauled in six offensive rebounds and seven defensive rebounds and also chipped in seven points. Hackett tallied 13 points, three rebounds and two blocks.

Behrend took control of the game early and scored the first seven points of the game. After a Connor McLaughlin (Ashtabula, OH/Edgewood) layup at the 6:25 mark in the first half, the Lions secured a 17-6 lead and would hold a double-digit lead the rest of the game. McLaughlin played 19 minutes off the bench for Behrend and contributed career highs with 10 points, six rebounds and three assists.

Nick DeLisio (Aliquippa, PA/Central Valley) played a well-rounded game finishing with 13 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals.

The Lions play their first home game since December 13 Wednesday against Carnegie Mellon. Start time is set at 7 p.m.
