Hackett Earns First-Team All-Region Honors

ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend men's basketball senior Zane Hackett (Brookville, PA/Brookville) was named to the D3Hoops All-Great Lakes Region First Team, announced on Monday. He was also selected to play in the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) 2016 Reese's® Division III College All-Star game.

Hackett capped off a remarkable career being named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Player of the Year, and now a first-team All-Region selection. Players chosen to the D3hoops.com All-Region team are eligible for All-American selection. The men's All-American team will be announced at the end of this week, in conjunction with the Division III men's championships.

He finished the season with 16 double-doubles, good enough for eighth in the nation. He led the AMCC, and was eighth in Division III, with a 62.9 field goal percentage, and finished the season fifth in the AMCC scoring with 16.8 points per game. Hackett was also third in the conference with 10.7 rebounds per game.

The Reese's Division III College All-Star game will be played on Saturday, March 19, at 3:30 p.m. (EDT), prior to the NCAA Division III championship game at the Salem Civic Center in Salem, Va.  The teams are composed of two senior student-athletes from each of the eight regions in Division III and two seniors have been selected through online voting on D3hoops.com for a total of 18 student-athletes. Hackett will be playing on the West team.
