Men's Basketball Earns Best DIII Scoring Defense Title

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's basketball team will receive an award for finishing the season with the best scoring defense in all of Division III.

The Lions' defense surrendered only 60.8 points per game during the 2017-18 season, only 0.1 ppg less than the second-best scoring defense in the nation of John Hopkins (60.9).

Behrend held opponents to under 50 points five times during the season. They also held the opposition to between 50-60 points 10 times, totaling 15 times out of their 29 games they held their opponents to under their season average.
