Penn State Behrend Defeats Thiel 63-46 on Monday

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's basketball team knocked off visiting Thiel College by a final score of 63-46 on Monday night. 

Behrend clamped down defensively on Monday night, holding Thiel to just 32.7% (18-55) shooting from the floor.  TC shot just 33.3% (8-24) in the second half.

Key Stats:

* Behrend moved to 2-0 on the young season with the win.
* Aided by their strong defense, PSB shot 45.1 % (23-51) for the game.
* After making 15 of 29 threes on Saturday, Behrend struggled on Monday, connecting on five of 28 attempts.
* Dan Wanker (Pittsburgh, PA/South Park) led Behrend with 20 points. Wanker finished 8-9 from the field and made all four of his foul shot attempts.
* Mike Fischer (Wexford, PA/North Allegheny) added 13 points, eight rebounds, two steals, and two assists in the win.
Andy Niland (Fairview, PA/Fairview) tied a career-best with 11 assists in the victory.  Behrend assisted on 18 of its 23 made field goals
* On the night, Behrend shot 85.7% (12-14) from the free throw line.
