Behrend Basketball Hosts Alfred State Saturday in AMCC Opener

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's basketball team will battle the Alfred State Pioneers in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) opener for both teams on Saturday in the Junker Center. Game time is 2 p.m.

* Allegheny spoiled the Behrend Lions home opener on Wednesday night
* The Gators snapped a 10-game losing streak to the Lions with a 78-71 win
* Sophomore Devin Pope (Ripley, NY/Chautauqua Lake) led the team in scoring for the second straight game with 19 points
* Pope ranks second in the AMCC with 22.0 points per game
* Senior Derrick Clark (Erie, PA/Central Tech) had double-digit points once again for the Lions, adding 12 on the night

* The Pioneers got their first win of the season on Tuesday against Houghton in overtime (91-87)

* Sophomore guard Josh Reding leads the team with 15.0 ppg and averages 36.7 minutes per game
* Reding drained a three-pointer with four seconds left to put the game against Houghton into overtime and then drained another in OT to give the Pioneers the lead for good
