Golfers Finish Day One of Kuhn Memorial Invitational

MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's golf team is in 11th place out of 18 teams after the first day of the Guy & Jeanne Kuhn Memorial Invitational held by Allegheny at the Country Club of Meadville on Sunday afternoon.

Wittenberg leads the team standings with a +11 for a 299 total. RPI is second with a 309, while Wooster and McDaniel are tied for third with 310. The Lions tallied a team score of 321, led by freshman Jack Perfett (Moon Township, PA/Moon Area).

Perfett carded a 74 to finish two over par and tie for seventh overall and first on the team. Sean Sculley (Waterford, PA/Mercyhurst) is second on the squad, tying for 27th with a score of 79 on day one. Ryan Matlock (Erie, PA/Mercyhurst) heads into the second day +10 after carding an 82 to tie for 49th overall.

JT Kuchnicki (Pittsburgh, PA/Montour) was the fourth golfer to make his score count with an 86 on the day. He finished tied for 75th and Alex Shindledecker (Erie, PA/McDowell) was the final golfer, shooting a 90 to tie for 88th place.

Behrend returns to action tomorrow for day two of the invitational. Tee times begin at 8:45 a.m.
