Men's Golf Takes Second at ECAC Championships

VICTOR, NY – The Penn State Behrend men's golf team finished runners-up at the 2017 ECAC Division III Men's Golf Championships on Sunday at the Ravenwood Golf Club in Victor, New York.

The Lions shot the lowest team score on day two with a 294 to finish with a 600 total. New York University won the tournament, posting a 592 score (295-297) and having a pair of golfers tie for first overall.

Behrend's Sean Sculley (Waterford, PA/Mercyhurst) finished in third place overall. He tied for the best score on the day with a 72 to earn a 147 for the two-day championship. Ryan Matlock (Erie, PA/Mercyhurst) also tallied a 72 on day two for a 149 overall and fourth place.

JT Kuchnicki (Pittsburgh, PA/Montour) added a stroke from yesterday, carding a 76 for a 151 to tie for fifth place. Noah Kunst (Kittanning, PA/Kittanning) was five strokes better than day one with a 74 on day two for a 153 total (9th place).

Jack Perfett (Moon Township, PA/Moon Area) completed the Lions squad and was the fourth golfer on the team to better his score on the second day. He tallied a 77 today to go with 79 from yesterday for a 156 and 10th place.

Behrend returns to action tomorrow at its home invitational at Lawrence Park Golf Course beginning at 12 p.m.
