Men's Golf Claims Seventh Straight AMCC Championship; Perfett Individiual Champion

WARREN, Ohio – The Penn State Behrend men's golf team won their seventh straight and ninth overall Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Championship with a winning two-day score of 588 on Monday at the Avalon Lakes Golf and Country Club.

The Lions did better than their best from yesterday, shooting a 293 for a conference-tournament low thanks to the individual champion in Jack Perfett (Moon Township, PA/Moon). The freshman shot a three-under par for a low score of 69 (35-34) on the day to go with a 72 from day one for a 141 total to claim individiual medalist.

La Roche moved into second place with a 614 for the tournament and Penn State Altoona dropped to third (623).

Noah Kunst (Kittanning, PA/Kittanning) recorded a 79 yesterday and came back to fire a 70 for a 149 two-day total to jump up to third-place overall for Behrend.

Perfett is the seventh individual medalist for Behrend, ousting the reigning champion in Sean Sculley (Waterford, PA/Mercyhurst). Sculley and Perfett were tied after day one and he tallied a 37-41 for a 78. The senior finished with a 150 scored to tie for fourth place along with teammate Ryan Matlock (Erie, PA/Mercyhurst).

Matlock added a 76 to his first-day score of 74 to end with a 150 and match Sculley for fourth.

JT Kuchnicki (Pittsburgh, PA/Montour) carded a 39 on the front nine and 42 on the back for an 81 and complete the Lions lineup for the championships. Kuchnicki finished with a 158 for 16th overall.

Behrend earned the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament on May 15-18 in Greensboro, NC.
