Perfett Named AMCC Newcomer of the Year

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's golf team had four players named to the 2017 All-Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Team, including freshman Jack Perfett (Moon Township, PA/Moon) who also earned Newcomer of the Year.

Perfett is the program's fifth player to earn Newcomer of the Year honors while being selected to the All-AMCC first team. He was the individual medalist at the AMCC Championship, shooting a three-under par for the two-day tournament with a 141. Perfett carded a 69 on the second day for his lowest round of the season. 

Senior Sean Sculley (Waterford, PA/Mercyhurst) was named to the All-AMCC first team for a second year in a row for his third All-Conference honor of his career. He was fourth in the conference in a 76.08 average for 12 rounds. Sculley tied for fourth at the AMCC Championships with a 150 total (72-78). He won the Pitt-Bradford Tournament and also tied for second at the Behrend Invite.

Ryan Matlock (Erie, PA/Mercyhurst) and Noah Kunst (Kittanning, PA/Kittanning) were selected to the second team for the Lions. Matlock finished fifth in the conference with a 77.31 average and Kunst was close behind in sixth (77.40). Matlock tied Sculley with a 150 for fourth place at the conference championships, while Kunst recorded a 149 at the tournament for third place overall. Matlock had four top 10 finishes and Kunst finished with five.

Behrend returns in the spring and will represent the conference at the NCAA Championships May 15-18 in Greensboro, NC.
