ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's golf team had four players named to the 2018 All-Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Team, announced on Wednesday.
Sophomore Jack Perfett (Moon Township, PA/Moon) was selected to the first team and senior Noah Kunst (Kittanning, PA/Kittanning) earned second-team honors, while freshman Alex Pol (Erie, PA/Cathedral Prep) and sophomore Daniel Thomas (Moon Township, PA/Moon) were chosen to the third team.
Perfett is making his second appearance on the first team after earning the honors a year ago. The sophomore led the Lions and ranked second in the AMCC with a 77.2 average for 10 rounds. Perfett landed in the Top 5 this season, including a third-place finish at the Pitt-Bradford Invitational with a season-low score of 72. He led the Lions at the AMCC Championships with a 154 (81-73) total for fourth place out of 44 golfers.
Kunst is back on the All-AMCC second team for a second year in a row. The senior played the most rounds this season with 13 to finish with a 78.7 average, ranking second on the team and sixth in the AMCC. Kunst was the individual medalist at the start of the season at the Pitt-Bradford Invitational, carding a two-under par for a season-low 70. He was also runner-up at the Oswego State Fall Invitational (152) and tied for 14th at the AMCC Championships.
Pol and Thomas are earning their first All-AMCC nods on the third team. Pol ranked eighth in the AMCC with a 79.0 average for 12 rounds. Pol was in the Top 10 on three occasions this season, carding a season-low 73 on the second day of the Allegheny Invitational to place tied for 15th. His best finish was fourth place at the Pitt-Bradford Invitational (75). At the AMCC Championships, he had the second-lowest score for a freshman (158) to place ninth overall.
Thomas was fourth on the team and 12th in the AMCC with a 79.3 average for nine rounds this season. He carded a 77 at the La Roche Invitational for third place overall and then tallied his season-best 75 on day two of the Oswego State Fall Invitational. He finished the season tied for 12th after two days of competition at the AMCC Championships.
