BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Penn State Behrend men's soccer team wrapped up the regular-season with a 3-1 decision over Hilbert in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) action Tuesday afternoon.

With the victory, the Lions (15-3, 8-1 AMCC) secured a first round bye and home-field advantage throughout the upcoming AMCC playoffs.

Jake Gamble (Butler, PA/Butler) continued to have an excellent season.  Gamble scored in the 21st minute to give Behrend a 1-0 lead.  Sean Polosky (Upper St. Clair, PA/Upper St. Clair) assisted on the play.  With the goal, Gamble set a new school record for goals in a season and tied the school record for most points in a single season.

The Lions held onto the 1-0 lead for most of the first half.  With less than three minutes to play, Danny Poljak (Pittsburgh, PA/Upper St. Clair) added to the Behrend advantage.  Poljak played a perfect header past the keeper off a corner by Kyle Coonelly (Sewickley, PA/Quaker Valley) for his first goal of the year.  The Lions took the 2-0 lead into the break.

Behrend added an insurance goal in the 66th minute.  Jimmy Belack (Upper St. Clair, PA/Upper St. Clair) found the back of the net off a Jake Szul (North East, PA/North East) pass for the Lions' third goal of the game.

The Behrend defense preserved the victory, allowing just four shots in the second half.  Jarrod Wassell (Hollidaysburg, PA/Hollidaysburg) earned the win between the pipes, making one save.

The Lions will back in action on October 31st for the AMCC semifinals at 2:30 p.m.
