Men's Soccer Heading to Spain

ERIE, Pa. – In one week, the Penn State Behrend men's soccer team will embark on their fifth international trip and first-ever journey to historical Spain for a nine-day excursion from May 6-15. 

The Lions are looking forward to the cultural experience of Spain after spending time in England (1998), Italy (2002), Germany (2006) and most recent Brazil (2010).

"Our international trips have been an important part of our student-athlete experience here at Penn State Behrend," said head coach Dan Perritano. "Our players are extremely excited about their nine-day Spain adventure."

The team is scheduled to arrive in Barcelona on Tuesday, May 7 and receive a tour of the FC Barcelona Camp Nou Stadium. Other highlights include guided tours of Sagrada Familia, Las Ramblas and Mercat de La Boqueria in Barcelona.

The Lions will also experience the city of Valencia, where they will play local club teams for their two games of competition. The final destination on the trip comprises of seeing the sights of Madrid, including the Royal Palace, Madrid Cathedral and the Prado Museum.
