Belack Named ECAC South Player of the Year; Worthy ECAC All-Star

ERIE, Pa. – Senior Jimmy Belack (Upper St. Clair, PA/Upper St. Clair) of the Penn State Behrend men's soccer team has been named the 2014 ECAC Division III South Offensive Player of the Year.

In addition, Belack and junior defender Mike Worthy (Pittsburgh, PA/Upper St. Clair) were chosen to the All-Star Team. Belack was chosen to the first team and Worthy landed on the second team.

The accolades keep rolling in for Belack. He was recently named the program's first-ever National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Continental Tire Scholar All-American, was a First Team NSCAA All-Great Lakes Region choice and the AMCC Player of the Year.

The senior was a point machine for the Lions this season. In helping the Behrend to a second consecutive Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Championship, Belack posted team-highs of 17 goals and 14 assists. He also tied the Lions' program record with 48 total points in 2014, while also becoming the school's all-time leader in assists. Belack finished his illustrious career second in the record books in both career points and goals.

Worthy, an All-AMCC first-team selection, is earning his first spot on the ECAC All-Star team. He started every game on defense, helping Behrend hold opponents to 13 goals in 22 games and posting 13 shutouts.
