Men's Soccer Wins 12th Straight Against PAC Teams

LATROBE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's soccer team won their sixth game of the season Wednesday night defeating the Bearcats of Saint Vincent 7-0.

This win marks the Lion's (6-1-1) 12^th straight victory against teams from the Presidents Athletic Conference (PAC). Behrend's offense was too much for Saint Vincent (1-7-1) to handle as they outshot the Bearcats 29-5 while six different Lions tallied goals.

Matt Dziadosz (Leechburg, PA/Kiski Area) started the scoring in the 21^st minute off an assist from Sean Gallagher (Bethel Park, PA/Bethel Park). Gallagher then scored his first goal of the season in the 37^th minute which was assisted by Christian Harrington (Warren, PA/Warren Area).

Harrington, like Gallagher, answered his assist by scoring the game's next goal at the 46:19 mark which started a 3:06 span where the Lions scored three goals.

Dziadosz notched his second goal of the game just 48 seconds after Harrington's. Nick Stewart (Pittsburgh, PA/Keystone Oaks) answered two minutes later off a cross from Gallagher at the 49:25 mark.

Freshmen Nick McKee (Bridgeville, PA/South Fayette) and Bobby Svec (Irwin, PA/Norwin) scored their first collegiate goals in the 69^th and 80^th minutes respectively. Svec also recorded his first assist on McKee's goal. Sophomore Nolan Beresford (Greensburg, PA/Hempfield) recorded his first collegiate point on an assist to Svec.

Senior goalkeeper Joel Solomon (Mercer, PA/Mercer) was awarded his first collegiate win as he made his first career start in net for Behrend. He made two saves in the victory.

The Lions open conference play in their next match when they travel to Penn State Altoona on Saturday for a 1 p.m. kickoff.
