Lions Route Alfred St. in Final Non-Conference Match

ERIE, Pa - The Penn State Behrend men's soccer team competed in their final non-conference match Thursday evening, defeating Alfred State 5-0.

The Pioneers (4-9) came out hot, recording the first three shots of the game before the Lions (11-1-3) took over, controlling the majority of play. Behrend recorded 17 shots compared to Alfred State's 10.

The Lions got on the board in the 10th minute after Nick McKee (Bridgeville, PA/South Fayette) found Aaron Harris (Washington, PA/McGuffey) streaking up the middle whose shot made it passed Alfred State goalkeeper Jacob Bartz. At the 34:59 mark, Behrend struck again, making the score 2-0 heading into the half. Zhafar Dzhabarov (Erie, PA/Central) played a ball through the middle of the field to Anton Benedikt (Madison, NJ/Madison). Benedikt won the foot race and found the middle left corner of the goal.

Behrend went on to score three more goals in the second half, handing the Pioneers their fifth loss in a row and nineth of the season.

Harris recorded his second goal of the night and third of the season in the 47th minute. After an Anthony Crivelli (Cranberry Twp, PA/Seneca Valley) shot and Bartz save, Harris grabbed the rebound and put it away, making the score 3-0. Eight minutes later, Crivelli recorded his second assist of the game. He found a wide open Dakota Lange (Apollo, PA/Kiski) in the box. Lange's shot to the upper right corner put the game out of reach, making the score 4-0.

The Lions final goal came in the 81st minute when Cole Ferguson's (Mars, PA/Mars) pass into the box met Scott Repenning (Bayvillage, OH/Bay), who headed it in.

Crivelli's two assists tonight give him 101 career points.

Behrend will be back in action this Saturday in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) game of the week against Franciscan. Game time is set for 3:15
