Men's Soccer Continue Undefeated Home Streak

ERIE, Pa. – Matt Dziadosz (Leechburg, PA/Kiski Area) scored two goals in the second half to lift Penn State Behrend men's soccer team past Allegheny 2-0 Saturday night.

The Lions (4-2) kept pressure on the Titans (3-3) for the entire game and were rewarded when Dziadosz scored his fifth and sixth goals of the season, continuing his scoring streak to five consecutive games.

Behrend came out firing in the second half, creating scoring chances as soon as the whistle was blown. Just two and half minutes in, Aaron Harris (Washington, PA/McGuffey) slid a pass behind the Allegheny defense, finding an open Dziadosz where he slotted a shot in the bottom corner of the net, making the score 1-0.

Less than three minutes, freshman striker Richard Blanchard (Erie, PA/Cathedral Prep) rang a shot off the cross bar from inside the six yard box.

In the 72th minute, Dziadosz notched his second goal of the game off of an assist from sophomore Nick Kisiel (Erie, PA/Mercyhurst Prep), giving Kisiel his first point of the season.

Goalkeeper Matt Warnaka (Chippewa, PA/Blackhawk) picked up the win tonight for the Lions, recording his first shut-out of the season. The defense has been doing a great job, not allowing any goals on their home turf.

Behrend will look to continue their undefeated home streak against Grove City on Tuesday.
