CARNEGIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's soccer team fell 2-1 in a battle to the 11th-ranked Carnegie Mellon on Tuesday night, snapping a four-game winning streak.
The Lions (8-4) went down in the opening minutes to the Tartans (8-1-1) when Jacob Moskowitz headed in a corner kick four minutes into the game.
At the 58:12 mark, Zack Masciopinto added a second goal for Carnegie Mellon when he finished a one-timer into the back of the net.
Just 32 seconds later, freshman Richard Blanchard (Erie, PA/Cathedral Prep) gave the Lions hope when he cut the deficit in half after netting a goal from inside the six-yard box.
Goalkeeper Chris Ralph (Murrysville, PA/Franklin Regional) tallied six saves in the game.
Behrend will face off against Penn State Altoona on Saturday. Game is set for 1 p.m.
