ERIE, Pa. - The Penn State Behrend men's soccer program will depart for its seventh trip abroad later this week. The 10-day trip from May 11-20 to Spain will allow the reigning Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) champions to discover what the beautiful country of Spain has to offer both athletically and culturally.

Previously, the Lions have spent time in Spain in 2013 while also making trips to England, Italy, Germany, Brazil, and Iceland over the last 21 years. The traveling party includes 21 players, 14 friends and family, three alumni and three coaches.

The team will depart for Europe on Saturday, May 11 from Toronto and arrive Sunday morning in Madrid. Scheduled for the trip are various walking tours of cities in Spain along with visits to some of the numerous historical museums including the Museo del Prado, which is considered to be one of the world's most incredible museums. The team will also be attending a La Liga game featuring Espanyol vs. Real Sociedad on May 18.

The Lions will play three games against soccer clubs from Spain to help them prepare for the 2019 season. During their free time from tours and games, the players are free to explore the cities of Madrid, Toledo, Peniscola, Valencia, and Barcelona.
